Maison du Midi B&B

Scandaleux, couple detestable et maison sans âme pas bien tenue. Arrivons à 15 h dans le cadre d un mariage et la tenanciere nous envoie balader car chambres non prêtes, nous demande de repasser dans une heure. Nous sommes expulsés de ce lieu nul à 10 h du matin,alors que couchés à 4 h 30, privés de petit dejeuner programmé par elle á 9 h00. Elle n'aime pas les mariages de francais, parle mal francais et ne recherche qu'à se faire du fric dans un metier ou le client est censé être soigné. A eviter, ce fut une experience epouvantable ...

Chambres de grande qualité, emplacement très calme, propriétaires extrêmement sympathiques. Ils parlent français et allemand.

Dieses Haus leidet offensichtlich unter einem Investionsstau. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam seinen Gästen. Ein besonderes Lob dafür. Leider ist auch das Frühstücksbüffet nicht das, was man für neun Euro erwartet. Die Auswahl ist nicht ansprechend und man hat den Eindruck, dass gespart werden muss. Leider, denn das Haus hat viel Potential. Einen Pool -aber hier sind leider nur ein Tisch mit zwei Stühlen und der " Rest " steht abseits und ist verdreckt oder defekt. ||

We stayed for four nights in this wonderful little bed and breakfast situated in a quite street in Magnac Laval while we were house hunting. The location could not have been better. A few short steps took us the the centre of the village which had everything we needed - a cafe for teas and coffe food and beers, a cash point machine, petrol station and small supermarket. Our hosts Anne and Walter made sure we were well looked after in their beautifully renovated home. Our room was just perfect - a lovely size with a large comfortable double bed, basin, couch, beautiful wooden wardrobe and wicker chair. The attention to detail of the furnishings meant the room was comfortable and effortlessly elegant. Anne painted all the pictures on the wall herself and the main stairs exhibited beautiful photographs also taken by her. The refurbishment of the house has obviously been a labour of love and their tastes are impeccable. Breakfast was served at whatever time suited us and consisted of croissants, french stick, beautiful homemade jam, tea or coffe and orange juice. Again the attention to detail around the matching little pots they were all served in was beautiful. We could come and go whenever we wanted without interference from our hosts yet they were always available to help us when we needed it. Anne kindly telephoned and arranged an appointment at the local vets for us - nothing was too much of a problem and as soon as we turned up we found ourselves chatting away to Anne like we were staying with an old friend. We could not recommend this bed and breakfast enough to anyone wanting to spend a relaxed time in a clean and beautiful home with friendly and welcoming hosts.

A huge smile and an immediate welcome are what greets you at Maison du Midi. ||||Anne and Walter offer a wonderful welcome while at the same time allowing you to come and go as you please to enjoy the local delights of this lovely area off the tourist track.||||I stayed in the 'Green Room' enjoying a warm and relaxed private area, excellent breakfast and beautiful meals cooked by Anne and served by she and Walter in the guests dining room.||||I cannot rave about this clean, tidy B + B. It's central quiet position in the village of Magnac Laval is perfect... and the photos on Anne & Walter's website at www.gruenberger.de (or at www.laterooms.com) are completely accurate.||||I'm hooked and can't wait to return.

Maison Du Midi reminds me somewhat of Aladin's cave. From the outside, discrete and non descript, but once entering the house you are transported into a period house of French elegance and courtesy. It has been renovated by the proprietors Anne and Walter. It has a rich mixture of rustic architecture combined with modern works of art (Anne's photography). The atmosphere is tranquil but when required Anne will be bustling about to make sure your stay is perfect. This is my fifth stay at Anne and Walter's. I was here to organise the siting of a mobile home at a property a few miles outside of Magnac Laval that we are renovating. Due to various reasons which I shall not go into the mobile home never arrived. We were only due to stay with Anne for three nights but due to the issues we were having Anne took control and made sure that she had accommodation available for the extra days we were there immediately reducing our problems to a manageable level. Nothing was too much trouble, her dinners are legendary and the personal service is akin to that of staying with your mother and father after you have been away for a few years. You are treated like family yet given your own space when needed. So if you want to eat well, sleep well and enjoy an area of outstanding natural beauty with lots of friendly people. Then come to Haute Vienne and in particular the area of magnac Laval and St Leger Magnazeix. Anne and other B&B proprietors will ensure every attention to detail and make your stay is one to remember. Whenever I am there, I never want to leave I think you will feel the same way.||||Victor D Thorn
